Campfires
Fire danger varies from year to year, therefore, you may or may not be allowed to have your own campfire. Restrictions are according to the U.S. Forest Service recommendations.
Communications
While camping can be a vacation from the cares of the world, limited cell phone access is available, as well as mail service for those desiring to maintain a connection with the world. Typically cell plans that operate on Verizon or AT&T have the best success with service. Wireless internet is also available for guests across the road in our camp’s welcome center.
Visiting Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch (MMSR)
We always welcome visitors to MMSR camp and we would love for you to come watch your son participate in our amazing camp program! However all visitors to MMSR, even those staying in Larry Cozine Family Camp, must check in at the MMSR Camp Office in order to be in camp.
Parents, friends, and siblings are not able to participate in the programs at Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch as a visitor. However, the freedom of staying in Family Camp allows for you all to come and go as you please. So you can go out and explore the Black Hills while your son is working hard on Merit Badges!
